So, during my trip to Oz, I've been hugely inspired at pretty much every turn. None more so than when we walked past the Maaike store in Darlinghurst, Sydney.

Meeting the owner/designer/maker, Maaike Pillar and for her to take time out from sawing wood to speak with me was a real delight!

She was open about her history in furniture resurrection, how she came to be in her pop up store and details about her workshops and commissioned projects.

I'm really fired up to finish a chair that's stumped me for quite some time ( follow my progress on Instagram recoverchairs).

Whilst in her store, Maiike's desk chair caught my eye. A 'cut and shut job' from two different chairs. I loved the end result!
