Two years ago I visited the Design Museum for the Brit Insurance Designs Awards.
It was there, for the first time that I saw the concept for the award winning folding plug, designed by Min-Kyu Choi. Frustrated by the dimensions of the traditional 3 pin plug, Min-Kyu set about a redesign, to fit in line with the clean look and feel of today’s technology.
I was blown away by his simple yet effective conclusion. Especially the adapter plug, which would do away with bulky overloaded powerpoints.
I had to get my hands on one of the first products in the Mu range, which is the USB adapter. And there are more planed, including a laptop charger. I'm convinced this range will become a design classic.
